Data Analysis on Ranger Training Class at Arizona State University

March 16, 2009: On Thursday and Friday, April 9-10, 2009, technical staff members at Arizona State University will present the training session, “Data Analysis on Ranger”. Topics to be covered in this class include:

• Accessing and sharing large data sets using Scientific Gateways

•Data movement, interoperability, and data formats

• A review of several case studies highlighting data analysis in HPC research

• An introduction to remote visualization on Ranger

Attendees are expected to be familiar with the basics of submitting and running jobs on Ranger and are encouraged to bring their own code and data sets. Staff members of the Arizona State University High Performance Computing Initiative and the Cornell University Center for Advanced Computing will be available during the training session to assist users in their data analysis efforts.
